Skills Acquisition: Computer Basic Operations Sector Of The Sir Allwell Ihunda’s Skills Acquisition Programme (2nd Batch) Kick-Start Activities In Grand Style.
The Second Batch of the Sir Allwell Ihunda’s ‘Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Programme’ have started in earnest at the various learning centers in Port Harcourt.
The Computer Basic Operations Sector, which is one of the sectors in the ongoing second batch skills acquisition programs began their programs with orientation at Teck Creek, Rivers State ICT Center, Port Harcourt on
27th May, 2022.
Other sectors in the Sir Allwell Ihunda’s ‘Skills Acquisition Programme’ for the second batch include;
Data Base Administration, Cinematography, Air-conditioning & Refrigeration, Computer & GSM Maintenance, Scaffolding,
Crane operation, Welding & Fabrication, Computer Operation Basic,
Shoe making,
Fashion designing, Combination of pipeline & structural welding training among others.
During the kick off of the Computer Basic Operations unit, the chairman of the Sir Allwell Ihunda’s ‘Skills Acquisition Programme’ committee, Dr. Ezebunwo Nyeche congratulated the trainees for making the second batch list, charged the trainees to utilize the opportunity Sir Allwell Ihunda provided for them and make the most of it.
The essence of Sir Allwell Ihunda’s skill acquisition in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area is to increase employment opportunities and crime reduction in the society.
The programme was flagged off by the Rivers State Commissioner of Youth Development, Hon Prince Obi Ohia in 2021 and now at the second batch of the programs with more batches underway.
Sir Allwell Ihunda, JP beiieves skill acquisition is one of the important pillars that help many in actualising their dreams and aid those who are not privileged to work with public or private organisations with academic certificates to have livelihoods.
The programme is already having direct influence on graduate and non graduate unemployment reduction in the City.
It also promotes culture of creative ideas, self-reliance, business initiative as well as low level of dependency among the youths in Port Harcourt.
There are so many benefits to be actualised in the Sir Allwell Ihunda’s skill acquisition, such as:
