Skills Acquisition: Mayor Of Port Harcourt Sir Allwell Ihunda Congratulates Fashion Designing Graduands, Urged Them To Maximize Their Potentials With The Skills They Have Acquired

– Graduation ceremony of the Fashion Designing department of the Port Harcourt City Local Government Trade, Entrepreneurship And Skills Acquisition Programme.

The Mayor of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, Sir Allwell Ihunda has congratulated the Fashion Designing graduands for their successful Months of training and learning professional skills in fashion designing, urged them to maximize their potentials with what they leant and ensure they practice it

The Mayor said this through the chairman of the Port Harcourt City Local Government ‘Trades, Entrepreneurship And Skills Acquisition Programme’, Dr. Ezebunwo Nyeche during the unique graduation ceremony of the second batch of the Fashion Designing Department at Vogue Regalia training center, D-line, Port Harcourt.

The beneficiaries graduated in grand style, with entertaining fashion parade and pageantry; as all the graduands wore and showcased clothes and apparels design, produced and made by them.

The Skills Acquisition Committee Chairman of the Local Government, Dr. Ezebunwo Nyeche who led members of the Committee congratulated the graduands and tasked them to maximize their potentials and ensure they practice what they were taught;

he also urged them to periodically go for retraining and upgrading as that is now a global trend.

He advised them to take advantage of the opportunity given to them by the Mayor of Port Harcourt City Local Government through the programme.

“Don’t allow fear to stop you from venturing into global fashion designing world, be creative and innovative in your entrepreneurial effort.

God’s Grace is sufficient for you, go into the world and conquer” – He added.

The special consultant to the Port Harcourt City Local Government Area on ‘Trades, Entrepreneurship And Skills Acquisition Programme’ Hon. Arthur Kalagbor congratulated the graduands for the successful trainings, urged them to make Port Harcourt Mayor, Sir Allwell Ihunda proud, make their families proud and make themselves proud aswell.

In response, the beneficiaries thanked Sir Allwell Ihunda, the Mayor of Port Harcourt City for the rare opportunity, saying that it is a dream come through, as many of them who haven’t used sewing machines before, can now effectively make use of the machines, design clothes and make a living from it.

Fashion Designing Department is one of 15 skills acquisition departments ongoing in the Port Harcourt city local government Skills Acquisition Programme (second batch).
