PRESS RELEASE
The Mayor of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, Sir (Hon.) Allwell Ihunda DSSRS, JP, has approved the immediate dissolution of all standing committees of the Local Government Council.
This directive affects all committees, including those responsible for revenue, sanitation, task force operations, and other ad-hoc bodies previously acting on behalf of the Council.
Henceforth, all financial transactions due to the Council must be remitted directly to the office of the Director of Finance/Treasurer of the Local Government Council.
All affected persons are hereby directed to hand over every Council property in their possession to the Office of the Mayor without delay.
The public is strongly advised to desist from dealing with unauthorized persons or fake agents who may parade themselves as representatives of the Council, as such engagements are strictly at their own risk.
In addition, security agencies are advised to arrest and prosecute any individual or group found impersonating Council officials.
