The Ministry Of Youth Development Refers To The Mayor Of Port Harcourt, Sir Allwell Ihunda As The ‘Mr. Human Capital Development’ Mayor

– One Day Youth Advocacy: The mayor begins 3rd Batch of the Entrepreneurship, Trades, and Skills Acquisition Program in Port Harcourt LGA.

The permanent secretary of the Ministry of Youth Development in the state, Dr. Roland Obed-Whyte has commended the Mayor of Port Harcourt, Sir Allwell Ihunda for all his applaudable input to promote youth development in the state.
Refers to him as the ‘Mr. Human Capital Development.’

This he said at the ‘One Day Youth Advocacy and Sensitization program’ with the Honorable Commissioner for Youth Development in Rivers State, Hon. Chisom Kenneth Gbali, in Port Harcourt LGA.

The permanent secretary said Port Harcourt City Local Government Area ranks amongst the top four LGAs that have prioritized the welfare of the youths in their LGAs.

In his address, during the advocacy and sensitization program of the Rivers State Ministry of Youth Development held in the local government council hall; the Mayor of Port Harcourt, Sir Allwell Ihunda, DSSRS
urged the youths of Port Harcourt to continue in their peaceful disposition, witnessed since he assumed office, and be vigilant against saboteurs.

He said the third batch of the Entrepreneurship, Trades, and Skills Acquisition program of his administration begins in a week.

The Mayor also highlighted the people-oriented infrastructures, his administration has provided for the people.

“…Already, my administration has engaged 800 youths of the LGA from various wards in various Entrepreneurship, Trades, and Skilled Acquisition programs since 2021 till date, and by next week, another 250 youths will benefit in the third batch of the program” – The Mayor added, as he promised to complete the spread of Infrastructure dividends of democracy evenly across the remaining 3 wards of the LGA before the end of his administration.

In his speech, The Honourable Commissioner for Youth Development in Rivers State, Hon. Chisom Kenneth Gbali Ph.D. thanked the youths of Port Harcourt for creating a wonderful ambiance for the stability of government in the state.
The commissioner said the advocacy and sensitization visit to the 23 LGAs in the state has the blessings of the Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminialayi Fubara GSSRS.

The chairman of ‘Sir Allwell Ihunda’s Entrepreneurship, Trades, And Skills Acquisition Program’ committee, Dr. Ezebunwo Nyeche urged youths of Port Harcourt to take advantage of the opportunity brought to them by the Mayor of Port Harcourt to develop themselves.

The committee chairman
listed the skills to be carried out in the 3rd batch as follows:
Solar/Interior Training, Paint making,
Forklift, Rigging,
Basic Welding,
GSM and Computer Maintenance,
Fashion designing, Catering and confectionery,
Make-up training and Gele craft,
Hair styling and nail management,
Shoemaking and scaffolding.
