PHALGA ADMINISTRATOR INSPECTS PRIMARY SCHOOLS IN THE LGA.
In a swift and pragmatic response to improve teaching and learning facilities in the primary schools in the Port Harcourt City LGA, the Administrator, Dr. (Barr) Samuel B. Kalagbor, DSSRS, today embarked on the on-the-spot assessment of some primary schools in the local government.
The schools visited include:
Iche Akarolo Model Primary School, Elekahia; State School, Elekahia; St Paul’s Model Primary School 1 and St. Paul’s Model Primary School 2, respectively.
The administrator was conducted around various facilities in the schools by the head teachers, who listed the challenges facing the schools, including leaking roofs/collapsed ceilings and fences; lack of students’ desks and toilets; laboratory, computer, and library resources; and water, electricity, and security threats, among others.
The administrator assured the leadership and pupils of the schools of the commitment of the local government under his leadership to improve the infrastructural facilities in the schools in order to provide better and conducive learning environments in the schools.
