Port Harcourt LGA Administrator, Dr. Samuel Kalagbor Embarks On Facility Tour Of The Council

THE ADMINISTRATOR OF PORT HARCOURT CITY LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA, DR. (BARR.) SAMUEL B. KALAGBOR, EMBARKS ON FACILITY TOUR OF THE COUNCIL .
The Administrator (Mayor) of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, Dr. (Barr.) Samuel B. Kalagbor, DSSRS, embarked on a comprehensive facility tour of the Council Secretariat during work hours. The administrator, during the facility tour, engaged withl Heads of Departments of the Council to get a first hand information on the challenges of the staff so as to give them the appropriate attention they deserve.
Dr. Kalagbor reiterated his commitment to the welfare of the workers security, health, and environmental sanitation, among others, as the core mandate assigned to him by the Administrator of the State, Vice Admiral(Rt’ed) Ibok-Ete Ibas.
He also took note of the issue of dilapidated structures within the Council premises, Mayor’s Lodge, and promised to address them as quickly as possible. He assured the staff of his administration’s commitment to provide modern facilities and a conducive working environment to enhance optimal performance.
“This administration is poised to set the necessary mechanism to reposition the Port Harcourt City Local Government Area prepatory to return of democratic governance and facilitation of sustainable development of the people and the city. I strongly believe that digitalization of the city administration and the marriage registration processes should be pursued and given priority consideration. Such digitalization will make governance less cumbersome.”, Dr. Kalagbor, stressed.
It is worthy of note that the world is going digital, and Port Harcourt City Local Government Area can not afford to be left behind.
Dr. Kalagbor also stressed the importance of training and retraining of staff for increased workers’ productivity.He equally assured both staff and the business community within the Council adequate security and fair treatment.

Workers of the Council marks the beginning of a new dawn in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area that is desirous to prioritize the welfare and well-being of public servants, which heralds a paradigm shift
The Head of Local Government Administration, Head of Personnel Management and other principal officers who led the Administrator on the facility tour thanked him on behalf of the entire workforce for the cordial and fruitful interactions they had with him. They assured him of their cooperation and support for the success of his administration.
Council offices and facilities visited by the Administrator of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area include the Marriage Registry; Procurement, Works, Education, Agriculture Budget Directorates; Finance, Security Unit, NULGE Office/Revenue Office, CouncilClinic, Legislative Assembly and Council Canteen. Others are the HPM’s Office, the HLGA’S Office, ongoing/abandoned projects site, and the Mayor’s Lodge, among others.
