The Port Harcourt City Local Government has felicitated with the Governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike on his nomination and soon-coming investiture by the President and Commander-in-Chief, Muhammadu Buhari with the Distinguished Award in Infrastructure Delivery. The event will hold this Friday 21st October 2022 during the Nigeria Excellence in Public Service Awards ceremony at the State House, Abuja.
In a goodwill message to Governor Wike signed by the Chairman of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, Sir Allwell Ihunda, the people of the LGA rejoiced with the Governor. The message stated that the award is an eloquent testimony to the essential infrastructural projects delivered by the Wike led administration for the benefits of the good people of the State, and a first of its kind in the history of Rivers State.
The Local Government Chairman asserted that the Distinguished Award has also validated the huge support and gratitude of the people of Rivers State to Governor Wike, and hopes of Nigerians for a more visionary, inspirational and focused leadership that will be tune with global standards; adding that Port Harcourt City Local Government Area is grateful to Governor Wike for creating an enabling environment for businesses to flourish like never before with the construction of several flyovers, road networks and other people oriented infrastructures in the city and beyond.
He further noted that the governor’s exceptional infrastructural project delivery spans the health, education, sports, agriculture, judiciary, housing, and commerce amongst other sectors.
In the message, the people of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area conclusively wished the Governor more wisdom and passion to actualize all his plans for the good of Rivers State and Nigeria.
