In preparation for the flag-off of the second phase of the trades and skills development programme, sponsored by the Port Harcourt City Local Government,The Secretary Of the Local Government, Barr. Chile Kay-Owuru,The Chairman Of the Empowerment and Entrepreneurship Committee Dr. Ezebunwo Nyeche and the local government consultant for the programme Arthurson Business Support Services Limited met with the recommended trainers, selected by the local government for the programme.

Mr. Arthur Kalagbor informed the trainers that for the second phase of the programme,the Mayor has directed that trainees be trained in skill areas such as Data Base Administration, Cinematography, Air-conditioning & Refrigeration, Computer & GSM Maintenance, Scaffolding, Crane operation, Welding & Fabrication, Computer operation basics,shoe making, fashion designing, combination pipeline & structural welding training.
The programme is expected to last between 90 and 180 days.
The Secretary Of Government, Barr. Chile Kay-Owuru told the trainers to be diligent in their assignment as the Mayor is determined to invest so much in human capacity development of the local government area.
He informed the trainers that just like in the pilot scheme, successful participants will be given starter packs by the local government.
Service Agreements were later signed between officials of the local government,led by the Secretary Barr. Chile Kay-Owuru and the trainers.
