*SIR ALLWELL IHUNDA COMMENDS IKWERRE TRADERS FOR SHOWING COMMITMENT TO BUSINESS ACTIVITIES*
_Promise to look into several requests they have made in phases_
Mayor Of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, Sir Allwell Ihunda has commended traders of Ikwerre extraction for coming together as a group with members drawn from the Ikwerre speaking LGA’S of Rivers State,covering most villages and communities in Ikwerre land.
Sir Allwell Ihunda made the commendation when members of Ikwerre Traders Association led by the president Comrade Worlu Chukwu paid a familiarization visit to him in the council headquarters at moscow road.
“I want to commend you for coming together as a group under the auspices of Ikwerre Traders Association,as we are all aware,in the past our people are not known traders,with the formation of this group it goes a long way to show that our people are now committed to business activities.”
President of Ikwerre Traders Association, Comrade Worlu Chukwu in a written speech he presented to the Mayor thanked the Mayor for granting their request for a visit.
He said they were in the council headquarters to convey their unflinching support to the Governor Of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike CON, GSSRS, POS (Africa)and familiarize with the Mayor of the primus inter pares local government in Rivers State.
He said one of their objectives is to bring together business men and women from the four Ikwerre speaking LGA’S and educate them on the need to be self reliant and compete with other local and international business men and women across the globe.
Comrade Worlu Chukwu appealed for reduction of their taxes by the local government and also help in the completion of their building project in Omagwa community in Ikwerre local government area.
Sir Allwell Ihunda thanked them for the visit and promised to attend to some of their requests in phases.
The Mayor received the delegation with his deputy Hon.Ms Tamunotonye Douglas, Secretary of Port Harcourt City Local Government,Barr.Chile Kay-Owuru, Supervisors for Works and Transport, Pastor Sunny Wokekoro and Mr John Amadichukwu also his Executive Assistant, Dr.Blessing Christopher Izim.
