*SIR ALLWELL IHUNDA SAYS NO MAN HAS THE MONOPOLY OF KNOWLEDGE, AS HE IS OPEN TO CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISMS FOR THE BETTERMENT OF PORT HARCOURT CITY LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA*.
_Urge residents of Port Harcourt to take seriously,the ongoing voters registration exercise._
Mayor Of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area,Sir Allwell Ihunda JP has said his administration is open to constructive criticisms,as no man has the monopoly of knowledge.
Sir Allwell Ihunda spoke today,in the council secretariat when he played host to a delegation of Rumu-Kpalukwuozu,Orianwo Community Council,Nkpolu Oro-Abali,Rebisi Kingdom.
The delegation,led by the community chairman Mr Owhondah Amadi thanked the Mayor for granting their request for a visit on short notice.
He congratulated Sir Allwell Ihunda on his Inauguration as Mayor of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area also, thanked him for appointing some of their son’s and daughter’s into key positions in his administration.
Also on the delegation was the councillor representing Phalga Ward 14,Hon Stanley Okechukwu Igwe who pledged his commitment to work closely with the Mayor and support him deliver on his electioneering promises.
Some of the requests made by the delegation of Rumu-Kpalukwuozu Orianwo Community Council includes,appointments into standing committees of the council,inclusion in the council’s trades and skills development programme.
They appealed to the Mayor to rename streets in their community to reflect their indigenous names.
Sir Allwell Ihunda thanked them for the visit also, appreciated them for the solidarity and support given to him and his deputy during the period of electioneering.
” I thank you for all your advice,we will need more of it to enable us deliver on our mandate to the people.
No man has the monopoly of knowledge,we are open to constructive criticisms for the betterment of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area”.The Mayor said.
Sir Allwell Ihunda told the delegation to go back home and sensitize their people on the ongoing continuous voters registration exercise in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area.
The people need to be educated on the importance of going to get registered to be able to vote during elections.
The Mayor said people that have misplaced their permanent voters cards,damaged their cards,wish to transfer their voting centers can do them online,while those registering for the first time should go to the Local Government Inec office at the popular CFC busstop on Aba road and register.
Sir Allwell Ihunda said he will look into their requests and attend to them were necessary.
A presentation was made to the Mayor on behalf of the delegation by Chief F.B Amadi.
Sir Allwell Ihunda received the delegation with his deputy M’s Tamunotonye Douglas,Chief Of Staff Mr Glory Oparaodu,Executive Assistant Dr Blessing Izim and other retinue of aides.
