*SIR ALLWELL IHUNDA SAYS HE HAS TAKEN STRINGENT STEPS TO CURB INSECURITY IN OROGBUM COMMUNITY*

Mayor Of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area,Sir Allwell Ihunda JP has said the stringent measures he has adopted to curb the menace of insecurity and disturbances in Orogbum Community is already yielding results.
He spoke today,when the leadership of Orogbum women’s meeting led by the President,Mrs Marycliff Oparaodu paid him a courtesy visit in the council secretariat.
The women congratulated Sir Allwell Ihunda on his Inauguration as Mayor of Port Harcourt City.
They said as mothers and wives of his community,they will stand by him at all times,backing him with prayers.
Mrs Marycliff Oparaodu said, they have come to identify with the Mayor,register their solidarity and support to the success of his administration.
The women then made several requests on issues bothering them which includes;Employment and Scholarship for youths,skills aquisitions,introduction of Iwhuruohna language into the curriculum of primary schools also,amongst some of the requests made by the women includes;Appointing them into standing committees of the council and renegotiation of memorandum of understanding between Orogbum community and companies to now include the full participation of Orogbum women.
Sir Allwell Ihunda tanked the women for the visit,he said during the campaigns,they promised to support him realize his ambition,a promise they have since fulfilled.
He said one of the cardinal focus of his administration is to tackle insecurity,as he is ready to tackle the menace head-on.
The Mayor said,working with security agencies,he has tracked down some of those that looted some computer shops in Garrison and Ogbum-Nu-Abali road a fortnight ago,and they are returning the looted items to the traders.
Sir Allwell Ihunda told the women that he has launched the trade and skills development programme of the council which he has included some youths and women of Orogbum Community as beneficiaries in the pilot scheme.
He said he will privately make funds available to them,so they can on their own train and support some indegents in the community.
Sir Allwell Ihunda seized the opportunity to sensitize the women about the continuous voters registration exercise, going on in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area,and why they should go home and educate the people on the need to go out and get registered to vote.
He said people that have misplaced their permanent voters cards,damaged their cards,wish to transfer their voting centers and those registering for the first time should go to the Local Government Inec office at CFC junction Aba road, to get the aforementioned issues sorted out.
“It’s exactly two months I assumed office as Mayor of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area,I have my plans well mapped out in the area of employment for our youths,as you have witnessed,with the flag-off of the trades and skills development programme last week.
I will discuss with the state Government on the need to introduce our Iwhuruohna language in the curriculum of primary schools.
Memorandum of understanding signed between companies and various communities in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area,will be looked into to accommodate the welfare of women.
My Administration will offer scholarships to indentified indegents in our tertiary institutions also,to some primary and secondary school pupils”.The Mayor stated.
The delegation of Orogbum women’s meeting, later held a prayer session,seeking the face of God Almighty for divine help and protection for the Mayor and his team as they discharge their duties to the people of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area.
In the same vein,Sir Allwell Ihunda received a delegation of an indigenous talent hunt organization,Ichewealth empire.
The delegation,led by the Chief Executive Officer of Ichewealth empire, Mr Gift Azunwena thanked the Mayor for granting their request for a visit on short notice.
They appealed to the Mayor for his support in their upcoming event tagged “PRINCE HEZEKIAH MADE IN PORT HARCOURT”also, support Mrs Nigeria, Afy Francisca in developing her pet project tagged “SCHOOL DRIVE”.
The Mayor thanked them for the visit and promised not to only support the Prince Hezekiah event scheduled to take place on the 5th of September 2021,at the Aztech Arcum Port Harcourt,he will also lead a delegation of the council officials to attend the event.
He said he will carefully study the requests made by Mrs Nigeria,Afy Francisca and support her were necessary.
Highpoint of the visit was the presentation of invitation cards and an endorsement tee-shirt to the Mayor by ace comedian Prince Hezekiah.
Sir Allwell Ihunda received both delegations with his deputy Hon Tamunotonye Douglas Douglas,the Council Secretary Barr Chile-Kay Owuru ,Chief Of Staff Mr Glory Oparaodu, some Supervisors of the council and other retinue of aides.
