*Phalga Mayor sends warning signals to troublemakers ahead of saturday’s election’s.
Ahead of saturday’s election’s in Portharcourt City,Mayor of Portharcourt City Hon Victor Ihunwo JP has,however sent a warning signal to would be troublemakers that might want to forment trouble during the polls,as he is duty bound to ensure the safety of the lives and properties of the peace loving people of Portharcourt City.
The Mayor said what happened on the 18th of August 2018,during the bye legislative election for the phalga state constituency III seat,when some members of the Apc in the state who had no business in Portharcourt city invaded the city to disrupt the elections and beat up innocent people thereby causing them various degrees of bodily harm will never be tolerated.
“Elections will be conducted in the 23 Local Government Area’s of the state,anyone who has no business in Portharcourt City should remain in their local government area’s,as the people of Portharcourt are determined to come out in their numbers and cast their votes freely and peacefully” the mayor said.
Hon Victor Ihunwo in the statement said that the warning became necessary following fresh intelligence available to him about dissident groups, thugs and their sympathizers within a faction of the All Progressives Congress in the state are planning to unleash terror on innocent electorates in Portharcourt City.
The Mayor calls on security operatives to be on red alert to ensure the safety of election officials and voters.
It has therefore become necessary to warn groups and individuals of a faction of the Apc loyal to the minister of transportation Chibuike Amaechi bent on fomenting trouble on saturday to have a rethink.
The People of Portharcourt City are not cowards and will not fold their hands and let the mayhem unleashed on them by thugs of the Apc on the 18th of August 2018 repeat itself unchallenged.
Gov Nyesom Wike has done so much for the people of Portharcourt City and on saturday the people are determined to show gratitude by coming out in their numbers and voting for all candidates of the PDP.
